The grey space
We are all one crisis away from The Grey Space.
The Grey Space is an artist-led documentation, public education, advocacy, and community access project centered on chronic illness and disability that uses visual art, design, storytelling, music, participatory experiences, and practical resource-building to help make invisible illness visible.
Born from lived experience with complex chronic illness and disability, The Grey Space explores the emotional ecosystem of illness, survival, and rebuilding. It exists to help people understand that the conflicting emotions that come with illness, instability, disability, and major life disruption are normal — and deserve space.
The Grey Space does not ask us to completely understand another person’s experience. It creates opportunities to encounter one another exactly where we are — to feel, connect, and respond with greater humanity. And with the full understanding that clarity does not always equal capacity.
We foster endurance hope, finding ways together to reclaim our voices, protect our dignity, and shape what comes next.
When the ways forward aren't built for us, we get creative. And scrappy.
We’re actively looking for partners to help bring The Grey Space initiatives to fruition.
The door’s open — whether you see yourself in the work or want to help bring it to life. If you want in, reach out!
